Steve Leonard is Founder and Chief Investment Officer of Pacifica Capital Investments, a leading money manager for high net worth individuals and institutional investors. He founded Pacifica Capital Investments in 1998 and the firm is based in Rancho Santa Fe, California.
In the early 1980s, Mr. Leonard formed Pacifica Holding Company with two partners to take advantage of the depressed commercial real estate prices that emerged from a severe recession. Pacifica assembled a private real estate portfolio in Los Angeles through acquisition and development with several private investors. As prices became inflated in the late 1980’s, Pacifica began selling its holdings, and looking elsewhere for opportunity.
Throughout the 1990s, Mr. Leonard led Pacifica Holding Company’s real estate investments in Denver, a market in which Pacifica built a sizeable and successful portfolio of commercial properties. Since selling the Colorado portfolio in 1998, Mr. Leonard has focused the majority of his time building Pacifica Capital Investment’s public equity business.
Mr. Leonard is also the Founding Chairman for Brokers for Battered Kids, a charitable organization that has, since inception, raised over $2 million for disadvantaged children in the Denver area. In addition, he was a member of the Board of Directors for NAIOP in 1994/1995. Mr. Leonard graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles, in 1976.
